WNC Neighboring Campaign
The Vision
Y'all, we are here to celebrate and encourage the deep layers of empathy, creativity, collaboration, and care that are at the heart of our region. When our communities faced the force and impact of Helene in fall of 2024, these values were expressed in endless variations to meet the needs and challenges we shared in the wake of that event.
Our question is, how can we more consistently center these strategies everyday, as a community?

So many people already do... it's one of the things that makes our region so incredibly special. For many of us, it can be easy to forget that small (local) choices make a big impact.
May this "campaign" serve as a reminder of what we are able to accomplish together. May it invoke questions, conversations and commitments, with and for our neighbors.
This Poster
We want to remind folks of the importance and relevance of buying local during these times (cannot be overstated), while also highlighting & acknowledging that local purchasing fits into a wide web of acts of caring for one another. These acts aren't only relevant in emergencies... they create more livable, sustainable and connected communities.
Our market received a small marketing grant and we utilized those funds to commission (and print) this beautiful poster from a local community member, Marina DeMarco. Marina is a musician, artist and farm-worker. She supports many of the Asheville area Farmers Markets and now has a formal position with the Black Mountain Farmers Market.
Thank you, Marina!
RAD Market is a nonprofit market with a strong vision for supporting our vendors, staff and community. We want all of us thriving together. If you'd like to support our efforts, donate here:
